Mhari & David’s Wedding: A Wee Short Yin with Big Memories

Mhari and David’s wedding was a perfect example of how the best things come in small, meaningful packages. The couple opted for my “The Wee Short Yin” 2-hour photography package, and let me tell you, every moment of those two hours was an absolute blast. As soon as they booked, I knew it was going to be a wedding full of personality, fun, and some lovely moments to capture—but there was also a little added pressure: David is a wedding supplier himself, being the singer of the talented Scottish wedding band The Trueloves! Talk about setting the bar high, right? But in true David and Mhari fashion, they made it look easy.

A Ceremony with Heart

The day started at their stunning venue, The Castle Rooms in Uddingston, where the ceremony was held by the incredible Duncan Fleming. Duncan did an amazing job, setting the tone for the entire celebration with his warm and heartfelt service. The couple looked radiant—Mhari, in her gorgeous dress, and David, looking dashing as ever. But it wasn’t just the beautiful surroundings or the lovely ceremony—it was the sense of joy and love that filled the air. You could just feel the excitement as Mhari and David said their vows, surrounded by their closest friends and family.

Fun in the Park

Once the ceremony wrapped up, I hopped in the car with Mhari and David for a short trip down the road to a lovely local park for their photos. Now, when I say this is where we had fun, I mean it. Mhari and David were so up for it—they were game for every idea I suggested, and we spent a good chunk of time laughing, joking, and just enjoying each other’s company.

The park was the perfect setting for some relaxed, natural shots. We wandered around, taking in the scenery and capturing those moments when the couple was completely in the moment. One of my favourite parts? The couple’s energy! They were so full of life, and their genuine connection was so easy to photograph. And to top it off, we even managed to get a few drone shots—something I’m always excited to incorporate into weddings. There’s just something about those aerial views that add such a dramatic and unique perspective to the photos.

Back to the Castle Rooms

After our park adventure, we headed back to The Castle Rooms for the next part of the celebration. We quickly snapped some family portraits, with everyone gathered around to celebrate the newlyweds. It was lovely to capture those precious moments between the couple and their families, as it’s always nice to have those special portraits to look back on.

We even squeezed in a quick mock cake cutting (because, honestly, who doesn’t love a cheeky cake moment?), and the smiles on Mhari and David’s faces said it all. It was light-hearted, fun, and full of love—just like the rest of their day.

Wrapping Up the Short but Sweet Session

As the evening unfolded, I wrapped up my time with Mhari and David, leaving them to enjoy their beautiful dinner and the rest of their celebration. It was such a joy to be part of their day, even if it was only for a short time. The “Wee Short Yin” package is perfect for couples like Mhari and David who want to keep things intimate and relaxed but still want to ensure they have beautiful, meaningful photos of the day. It’s a great option for those who may not want to spend the entire day with a photographer, but still want to capture the highlights and the most important moments.

A Wedding to Remember

It’s always an honour when a wedding supplier themselves trusts you with capturing their day, and Mhari and David were a dream to work with. They were relaxed, fun, and absolutely in love, which made every shot a breeze. From the ceremony to the park photos, to the mock cake cutting and drone shots, their day was full of smiles and laughter, and I feel so lucky to have been part of it.

Thanks again, Mhari and David, for choosing me to be a part of your special day. I’m so happy I could capture your beautiful moments and share in the fun of your big day—wishing you both a lifetime of happiness, laughter, and great music (from The Trueloves, of course)!
